Course Overview

Course Objectives 

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Discuss the functions and activities in the supply chain functional areas of inventory management, transportation, warehousing and material handling, and packaging

  • Describe the trade-offs related to supply chain design

  • Apply supply chain knowledge to the evaluation of supply chain design challenges in case situations

  • Discuss the dimensions of supply chain risk management and what firms can do to mitigate it

  • Discuss how supply chain executives manage talent

  • Review future trends in supply chain management

Students will meet the course objectives through the following actions:

  • Attending live lectures 

  • Completing learning content pages, which includes

    • Watching videos

    • Reading text and studying charts and tables

    • Listening to audio

  • Posting to the discussion board

  • Completing two case study assignments

  • Completing eight exams

Course Requirements

 

  • Internet connection (DSL, LAN, or cable connection desirable)

  • Access to Canvas

  • Microphone

  • Read content, watch videos, listen to audio, and complete assignments

Course Structure

The content will be delivered in Canvas with a variety of media components. Participants will need to play video, audio, and download files if indicated. They will also need to access video conference links for live lectures.
