PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Course 1: Analytics for Competitive Advantage

This course covers a wide variety of topics that are included in a business analytics framework. Throughout the eight-week program, we will look at issues such as: competing with analytics; using analytics to create value; enterprise data management and analytical modeling tools; value chain and business analytics; marketing/sales and valuation processes; supply chain, enterprise risk, and HR processes; identifying and defining organizational problems and opportunities; and solving problems with visualization tools. We will also look at the role a data scientist has within business analytics and how this area is constantly evolving over time.

Course 2: Data Mining and Management Strategies

This course covers a wide variety of topics that are included in a business analytics framework. Throughout the eight-week course, we look at topics, such as: enterprise database and data models; extracting data from a database; large scale implementation of Hadoop MR; social networks and geolocalization; unstructured data, graphs, and networks; clustering (understanding the relation of things); and classification (putting things where they belong). We also review advanced methods of classification with regards to data mining and management strategies.

 

Course 3: Applying Business Analytics

This course covers a wide variety of topics that are included in a business analytics framework. Throughout the eight-week course, we will look at topics such as data-driven science in statistics, describing the data, statistical inference, confidence intervals, t-tests and ANOVA, linear, exponential, logarithmic, and power regression, multiple linear regression, logistic regression, and analyzing text, networks location, and imagery data.
